An Address of Distinction.

A Bespoke Membership.

At Symphony Place, belonging comes with more than an address, it comes with access to something extraordinary. Welcome to The Cumberland Club, Nashville’s most exclusive experience, designed for those who lead, create, and inspire. Spanning the entire 7th floor, this private sanctuary rises above the energy of the South Bank. Inspired by the rhythm of the Cumberland River and the elegance of the Scottish countryside, it offers a refined place to gather, work, and recharge. From morning meetings to client hosting and moments to reset, every detail is designed with intention. This is more than an amenity, it’s a place to belong.

WELCOME TO THE CLUB

A Legacy of Connection, Reimaged

Nashville’s progress wasn’t built in corporate boardrooms. It grows in the spaces in between, where people connect, think differently, and shape what comes next.

For over a century, the original Cumberland Club has been the silent architect of Nashville’s progress. In 1901, it was a sanctuary of limestone and velvet, a place where the city's leaders gathered to map out the railroads that would connect us to the world. Today, that same spirit of connection has found a new, luminous home at Symphony Place.

As the city grew, the Club evolved, eventually rising high above the streets as Nashville's premier penthouse "sky club" overlooking the State Capitol. Defined by a timeless aesthetic of rich leather, warm pewter, and discreet corners, it became the ultimate retreat for policymakers and business titans. This was a sanctuary of curated culture and guarded traditions, where legendary recipes were preserved and private societies met in total discretion.

We have traded the heavy curtains for floor-to-ceiling glass, rising 29 stories above the historic South Bank. But while the materials have changed, the purpose remains eternal: to provide a "third space" where the architects of tomorrow can gather to shape the future.

Grit meets grace

The name "Cumberland" was intentional—the river fueled the city's wealth but remained wild and unpredictable. The club embodied that duality, transforming the grit of riverfront trade into the grace that shaped Nashville's libraries, universities and parks.

THE NEW BLUEPRINT.

Eventually, as Nashville expanded outward, the need for these central downtown gathering spaces shifted and the club quieted, becoming a treasured chapter of the city’s history. Until now.

"We didn't just inherit a name. We inherited a standard."

The new Cumberland Club at Symphony Place honors this multi-generational heritage. We have traded the historic penthouse for a sprawling, full-floor private retreat tailored entirely to the person behind the professional.

The setting is modern, but the foundational spirit remains untouched. From high-stakes morning meetings to casual afternoons in the lounge, you are walking the same steady ground of legacy and ambition that has always defined the Club.
